Title: From Hopf invariants to knot invariants.

Abstract: We show how relative Hopf invariants for the 
evaluation map of a knot lead to the quadrisecant 
formula for the type-two invariant (with Budney, Conant 
and Scannell).  We give progress in next degree, a
conjectured formula involving counting places where 
circles and parabolas intersect a knot. We mention a 
conjectural relationship between these results and 
formality.
