Publication ethics

The journal Rendiconti di Matematica e delle sue Applicazioni adheres to the EMS Code of Practice.

This journal adopts the open submission policy. Submission of a paper implies that it is the original work of the author(s), that it has not been published (in any language) or submitted simultaneously for publication elsewhere. Unbiased consideration is given to all papers submitted for publication regardless of nationality, gender, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship or political philosophy of the authors.

Manuscripts submitted are expected to be mathematically correct, well organized, clearly written and of interest to the scientific community: research articles should be original and contain either new results or new proofs of known results; a survey article should contain a clarification and/or a critical evaluation of material that has already been published.

All the contributions submitted are sent for reviewing to one expert in the specific area for evaluation according to the above criteria. The referee can either review the papers or recommend alternative referee(s). In order to have a comprehensive evaluation and to avoid conflicts of interest we try to ensure that the referees were not co-authors of any of the paper's authors in the recent years.

The referees must treat confidentially the manuscripts received for peer reviewing and they cannot use the material contained in a submitted paper in their own favor. Referees should not accept to review a paper in which they have any conflict of interests. In the report, the referee must give his/her opinion based only on the relevance, originality, clarity and correctness of the results of the submitted paper.

The editors ensure the confidentiality of the submitted manuscripts until they are accepted for publication. The editors and the editorial office do not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to any individual other than the referees or other editors of the journal. Unpublished results revealed in a submitted manuscript must not be used by editors without the consent of the author. The final approval or rejection, based on the report of the referee, is taken by the editor in chief in collaboration, if necessary, with other members of the editorial board. The final decision is unquestionable.

Submissions of editors will be handled with a special procedure that will ensure that the peer review and the final decision is totally independent of the author/editor.
